PIARC Winter Road Congress
The PIARC Winter Road Congress has been held every four years since 1969. Winter road maintenance and other topics are typically addressed. The 11th congress, the first in Asia, was held here in Sapporo in 2002, and CERI served as the secretariat. We presented research in lecture sessions, poster sessions, and at our exhibition booth, and we organized a technical visit to the Ishikari Blowing Snow Test Field, where we demonstrated the AHS pilot system.
In March 2006, the 12th PIARC Winter Road Congress was held in Turin, Italy. Our institute actively participated, dispatching 14 researchers, ten of whom presented papers. We set up a booth at the venue to exhibit our research through brochures and a video.
